Blogosphere Address Shift!

Thanks so much to all you guys who read and commented on my blog during its short life. To my disappointment, I discovered that I simply didn't have enough to say when it came to the broad topics of fashion of DIY culture.

However, I have plenty to do and say about cosplay, and as such, I've decided to try blogging once more. Blue Cosplay is going to be a blog about my sewing and costumery misadventures in cosplay. I figured I owed my small readership, as well as the far future internet blog historians, an explanation for my absence from Crayola Zombie. CZ is dead now and forever more. There shall only be... Blue Cosplay.

I am a garden

I love love love flowers, and I love love love sticking things atop my head which really don't belong there. It was only a matter of time, considering how easy these things are to make.

I've barely been blogging a month and already I get withdrawal if I miss a week without posting. I think that's a good thing?

I take crumby photos

Honestly. If I'm not making some kind of ridiculous face or pose, I just look silly and asleep. Herpa derp incarnate. Someday I'll figure out how to take a semi-decent picture, but until then, you get an odd picture of today's outfit.

Threadless T, thrifted everything else.  I chopped the collar off my dad's old shirt a la Marlena.
I'm also wearing my Docs.
I also ought to find a better place to take photos. Maybe that tree out front? Perhaps.

Making pom-poms is super fun, by the way, and even it's even funner to tie them to hair pins and wear them on your head. I sense a yarny-head day coming soon.

I got a pocket full a' sunshine!

One can never have too many things to stick in their hair. As such, while watching Supernatural and generally not being productive tonight I decided to crochet some lovely hair flowers.

I'll definitely have to be making more of these, so I can have a whole garden growing on my head!

For now it's more of a sad window planter.
My eyes always look so sleepy.
I'll make sure to show off my head-garden when she is complete!

Self-confidence Nirvana has been reached!

I promised myself this would not be a personal blog, and it's not going to become one, but something wonderful happened to me today.

I've considered myself an insecure person all my life, but it seems that has finally changed.

Today, while talking to two of my friends in Latin, they asked if i'd gotten a hair cut, which I (sort of) had. I answered yes, and explained that I had done the deed myself. They both gave me hesitant, distasteful glances and explained that I probably shouldn't do such a thing again, since my bangs were so short and flat and didn't look good.

And guess what:

I said thanks, but I love my hair the way it is, and that was that.

I can't stop smiling! I love my friends and I love myself and life is just good today! Has this ever happened to you?

(Also, here, have some real Nirvana while you're still here.)

Monday's Child...

I like candles. A lot. Way too much, even. I just love the yellow of fire light, and the fire itself. I could watch it like a pyro for hours, probably. It's also ridiculously fun to watch candles melt. The tea-candles that turn into little transparent pools, and the big wide ones that carve themselves through from in inside out, and then my favorite, the novelty-shaped ones that melt all strangely, with squishy jack-o-lantern faces or whatever.

During the Great Purge, my mom found this old cup my great-gran got me when I was born, so I decided to turn it into a candle!

Course, I didn't really plan on melting candles to make another one, so I ended up with a big fat mess and several burns on my hands.

I actually did go to Niagra Falls, but I found that cup at a Seattle estate sale
On a related note, I really need a lighter. One of those cool, cigar-lighting ones that last for a long time. The only person with a working lighter in the house is my dad, and it's a pain having to hunt it down every time I want to set something on fire. Did that sound odd?

Outfit Post 9/29

I was only going to laze around in pajamas all day, but we ran out of onion dip, and had to go get some more sour cream from the store. We don't usually have the most tasty and glorious onion dip, but my DnD group started up anew on Friday, so my mom saw fit to treat us! Since I didn't take a shower this morning, and my hair was all crazy, I wore my fuzzy blue knit hat.

Yes, I know my face is lovely.
I wish I could display the total fabulousness of this dress, but I still need to show my sister how to properly work the fancy camera, so this blurry pic will have to do.

homemade hat, thrifted dress, and hand-me-down converse
A bit boring today, yes, but I do so love this dress.
